The Powerful Touch Of Reiki

It feels great to be back on HealingBodyMindSpirit.net. Sarah and I have been busy little bees working on a bunch of project for this blog as well as getting our CicadaSounds.com blog up and going.

We will also be playing Kurton music with some experienced and talented people in March at the Quantum Creating Retreat that will be held in Melbourne, Florida. I will have more information in the following weeks for people who are interested in coming.

Well…back to this blog. The first weekend of January, I got the opportunity to go to Melbourne, Florida and train and receive my first degree in Reiki. It was an awesome experience and  for me it was easy and felt natural to bring Reiki energy into my massage treatments. I found that I was getting better result without feeling drained or fatigued after a full day of work.

The first rule I made sure to follow was to let my clients know what I was doing….meaning I let them know I had some new training in energy work and I would like to add it into their session. Most of my clients where  open to Reiki and enjoyed  their treatment very much. Some clients prefered I did not use Reiki in their treatment and I always honor my clients wishes.

Below are a few links to check out if you are interest in learning Reiki.

Talk at you later…Peace

The Healing Powers Of The Crystal Bowl

By Sarah Primus

Hey this is Cheri, Sorry to take so long at getting this post up…I am working on learning a new healing system and my body went into detox mode and put me under the weather for  about four days. Later in the year I will share my experience with this system.

So back to this week’s post by Sarah, called The Healing Powers Of The Crystal Bowl. Helping Sarah to get this video up and going was fun.  What made it especially fun was Sarah’s Mom, Mary was in for a visit from Kansas and of course we dragged her into the video with Sarah.  We shot the video in Sarah’s healing room with natural light and we used Sarah crystal bowls.

For Sarah and I, being musicians and massage therapist, we appreciate and use healing sounds like crystal bowls and music in our everyday healing practice. So this is close to our hearts. We would like to make it clear that you do not have to be a musician or a massage therapist to use, enjoy and receive the benefit of healing sounds and music. It can be as simple as buying a CD of crystal bowl sounds or going all the way and buying your own crystal bowls and feeling the power and vibration first hand.

To learn more how crystal bowls and the powers they have to enhance healing visit World Puja Radio where my friend, Kumari Mullin of Kumari Healing has a show called  “Co-Creation Activations”. She gets into detail on how the crystal bowls work and which crystal bowl is right for you.

The Art Of Cupping

Cupping

By Cheri Abrams

Ancient Cup For Cupping

Well this little video was fun to shoot. Sarah and I got to play with our new lighting and backgrounds and of course we had a lot of help from Lucy & Ethel. As my husband refers to as chaos in cat form. Thank goodness I did a voice over because all you would have  heard was two cats screaming in and out of the room, banging into walls and getting tangled up in the backdrops. Oh, the challenges of having a home studio. And yes they will be lock out the next time.

Tom Turcotte In China

I was introduced to the art of cupping by my teacher and mentor, Tom Turcotte of Orlando, Florida. Tom is a doctor in (TCM), a Massage Therapist as well as a Kung Fu Master. He started teaching me Kung Fu and Tai Chi in the early 90s and he encouraged me to become a Massage Therapist. So I took his advice and went to massage school in 95. After I became a therapist, Tom started introducing me to Shiatsu, Herbology and Cupping.

Tom Turcotte

Cupping is very therapeutic and healing and can help with chronic injuries. Most Acupuncturist and some Massage Therapist are trained in the art of cupping. If you are a Massage Therapist who is looking for a modality that can get deep without stressing out your body, cupping might be for you. There are plenty of courses through out the US and the UK.

So I hope you enjoy our little video.

Illumination and Initiation: Stepping into the Healing Path of Andean Shamans

Illumination and Initiation:  Stepping into the Healing Path of Andean Shamans

By Sarah Primus

What are the healing ways of the Andean shamans, you may be asking?  I certainly wanted to know the answer when four years ago during a late night internet session I stumbled upon munay-ki.org, and, The Four Wind’s Society website.  An intriguing video was featured, of an initiation fire ceremony that flushed my skin with goose bumps from head to toe.  And so I began an ever deepening journey into this “rabbit hole,” through the study of ancient Andean and Peruvian shamanic healing practices and culminating in a “trip” to the Peruvian jungle last fall.

Since childhood I had developed a fascination with Native American spirituality; later introduced to a deeper understanding through my aunt, through books she gifted me in early adolescence.  Reading about the ways and ceremonies, various elements, and the spirit guides and power animals of the indigenous people took me to a world where I felt right at home, especially during a time when I felt agonizingly alienated and different from my peers.

The history of the plains of Kansas where I grew up, were steeped with stories and the energy of those who walked before and left their mark there.  As a child I received spiritual guidance during my walks across the fields of my family’s farm, that later in adulthood led me to a life long study of the healing arts.

Watching the Munay-Ki fire ceremony video that evening, tears began welling up in my eyes, as I recalled a vision I had had at the age of about fifteen.  The imagery in the video of the Munay-Ki fire ceremony was identical to that of my dream vision sixteen years ago!  I saw a woman kneeling before a fire in a hooded cloak with a man behind her, arms outstretched, and head covered, in a protective gesture.  In my vision I was in the position with my arms outstretched.  It felt more like a reality than a dream, and I always wondered about it’s meaning.  Upon seeing a similarity in this video, I immediately began researching about the nine initiation rites of the Munay-Ki and their meaning.

I read that the prophecies of the ancient Americas speak about this current time as a period of great transformation, a time to make an extraordinary difference in the world. They foretell of a new human appearing on the planet; a person of wisdom and power who lives free of fear and abides in their eternal nature, accepting stewardship for all creation.

Further research took me to the Four Winds Society, an organization dedicated to teaching the healing techniques of the Andean shamans and sharing the rites of the Munay-Ki.  It’s founder, Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D in Medical Anthropology, is an author and initiate of Andean shaman masters, whom organized the teachings and created the Healing the Light Body School.  I had to get my hands on his first book and learn more.

The very next day I was in downtown Melbourne and had the urge to pop into the local spiritual bookstore.  I immediately fixed my attention on the book I desired.  When I approached the register with Alberto’s first book, Shaman, Healer, Sage, the clerk looked on with knowing and immediately opened up with me.  He excitedly shared that he was a student of a local shaman, Debra Kruljac, who herself was a graduate of the Healing the Light Body School created by Alberto Villoldo!  Talk about synchonicity!  I walked away with her phone number and so began my initiation into the world of the Earthkeepers.

“Munay-Ki comes from the Quechua word that means, “I love you” and is also taken to mean, “Be as Thou Art.” The Munay-Ki initiation helps us to become instruments of peace and agents for change and transformation. As you are initiated into the Nine Rites you join a group of ordinary men and women who lead extraordinary lives; the Earthkeepers or medicine people of the Americas. As you experience the Munay-Ki, you’ll feel the presence and sense the wisdom of these luminous ones who have broken out of linear time and now dwell in infinity.

When we engage these luminous ones, their stories become our stories: We actually “remember” migrating across the Bering Straits or crossing the Sonora Desert into Central America, or even before that, making our way over the Himalayas to the fertile green valleys on our great journey north from India. When we partner with the Earthkeepers from the future, we can upgrade the quality of our DNA. This runs contrary to scientific wisdom, which says that our genes can only be informed by the past, by the gifts and illnesses our ancestors had. The Earthkeepers understand that when you are free of the bounds of time, the future can reach backwards like a giant hand to pull you forward to your destiny. You can be influenced by who you are becoming.”  -Alberto Villoldo, PhD

As you receive the nine rites, your chakras will have the opportunity to become clear and you’ll acquire what the Earthkeepers know as the rainbow body; as your chakras glow with their original radiance.”

I learned that the Rites of the Munay-Ki transform and upgrade your luminous energy field. They are energetic transmissions that heal the wounds of the past; your karmic and genetic inheritance. They re-inform your DNA, enabling you to grow and dwell in a new body; one that ages, heals, and dies differently. The Munay-Ki rights are an invitation to dream an entire new world into being, a dream of co-operation between the wisdom of the indigenous and the technologies of westernized society.

More and more people from North America and the westernized world, including myself, are becoming wise to the perils of the competitive and destructive world view encouraged by the capitalistic empire in which we reside.  They are turning towards the heart centered, earth honoring wisdom of indigenous people the world over, and traveling far and wide to attain these teachings from the remaining elders and masters.

The Munay-Ki initiation took place over a period of nine months; two Thursday evenings per month, at the Center for Healing Arts in Melbourne.  The initiations involved a very informative lecture, followed by the intricate initiation ceremonies.  During this time I tapped into the underground spiritual scene of Melbourne, a vibrant community of unique and eccentric artists, healers, musicians, and mystics.

During these classes I learned about the anatomy of the Luminous Energy Field, or LEF, the outermost “skin” like layer of our energy field that serves as a defensive cocoon, and carries our life story etched onto it’s membrane like designs cut into glass.  The LEF contains an archive of all our personal and ancestral memories, of all early-life trauma, and even of painful wounds from former lifetimes.

“These records or imprints are stored in full color and intensity of emotion.  Imprints are like dormant computer programs that when activated compel us toward certain behaviors, relationships, accidents, and illnesses that parallel the initial wounding.  Our personal history indeed repeats itself.  Imprints of physical trauma are stored in the outermost layer of the LEF.  Emotional imprints are stored in the second layer, soul imprints in the third, and spiritual imprints in the fourth and deepest layer. Imprints in the Luminous Energy Field predispose us to follow certain pathways in life.  They orchestrate the incidents, experiences, and people we attract to ourselves.  Imprints propel us to re-create painful dramas and heartbreaking encounters, yet ultimately guide us toward situations wherein we can heal our ancient soul wounds.”

A lightening bold of clarity and understanding hit me as I began to contemplate my life circumstances, while studying the energetic anatomy of how the Law of Attraction truly works.  I felt I had a deep understanding of the Law of Attraction, but now I could actually see how it works. This Law states that “like attracts like.”  The energetic imprints upon our field resonate at a certain frequency, attracting like frequencies and experiences, and therefore they command and dictate our life in a powerfully tangible way.  It was a huge “Aha” moment, as so many of these same principles paralleled and added to my decade long study of another ancient energy healing modality, Reiki.

“When there is no template for disease in the Luminous Energy Field, recovery from an illness happens at tremendous speed.  By the same token, imprints for diseases can depress the immune system, and it can take an extremely long time for us to regain our health during an illness. When we erase the negative imprint that caused the onset of illness, the immune system can rapidly eradicate the disease.”  -Alberto Villoldo

It was like discovering the Holy Grail for healers; a clear and complete instruction manual, an understanding of the inner workings of the human blueprint and how it informs and creates our physical, mental, and emotional bodies, as well as the myriad details of our lives.

After being initiated into the rites of the Munay-Ki, and the lineage of all Earthkeepers before and after me, I gained more confidence in my healing practice and began delving deeper into the practical application of how to interact with the Luminous Energy Field during sessions with my clients, and how to guide and assist others in healing and releasing their own energetic imprints.

Through years of practice and following my intuition, I’ve created my own hybrid technique combining Reiki with the Illumination techniques of these Andean shaman masters, along with other energy tools and modalities.  My passion and dedication to energetic healing has taken me on a life long journey deep into the dark night of my own soul work and healing, and has given me a deep sense of acceptance, compassion and love towards myself, as well as others.  I am constantly becoming aware of and shedding the myriad layers of beliefs and energies which inform and create imprints that no longer serve me.  My goal is that I may become a clear vessel for this healing path, live in ayni (harmony), and be a way shower for those who follow, through my music, my healing work, and my life.  Be as thou art!  Munay!

2012 Mother Earth

By Cheri Abrams

A few months ago I went down to Boca Raton to play flute for a fundraiser.  After playing I was walking around chatting with people when I met Sherinata Pollock for the first time. Somehow we got on the subject of what I do as a sideline. That sideline is with business partner, Sarah Primus and we own an audio and video production company called Cicada Sounds LLC. Well….. can you believe that was exactly what Sherinata needed?  She needed someone to help her get one of her videos up and running for her website www.2012motherearth.com. And of course I told she found her video editor.

Sherinata also wrote a book “2012: Prophecies, Prayers and Preparation” which is getting rave reviews. And she wanted to add this video to the book’s webpage.

The book’s message is straightforward but profound. The reviewer’s quotes below say it all.

“The messages entailed in this book are profound and life changing. It has become my daily guide and inspiration. Read it and learn while having your confirmations of facts right at hand. The key is not in the prophecies but in the lessons that are there to be implemented into our daily routine. Try it and be diligent about it and the results will blow your mind! “

  HopeNC

“This book works you through some great daily prayers/meditations that help with the internal mind shift that is needed within all of us. This is a quick read book with very good information about how we can help be the change that we want to see in the world.”

L. Pena

So began a friendship, Sherinata and I worked long distance thanks to the wonderful world of the Internet and created this nice video from one of her recordings she did when she was out West. I just wanted to share and hope you enjoy the love and energy that Sherinata projects and do check out her website www.2012motherearth.com. In closing I upload the back of her book and posted her video for everyone to enjoy.

Gulf Healing

By Sarah Primus

Gulf Healing Mandala

I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.” –Dr. Emoto’s prayer for the Gulf waters.

This story is about how one woman’s moment of inspiration, in the middle of the night, half way across the country, has impacted the lives of thousands of people and – we believe – hundreds of thousands of animals.  Thanks to Marigrace VanDeventer for sharing her inspirational story and for Kumari Mullen and Dr. Emoto for working together to heal our precious waters. We hope that you, will join with us in continuing the efforts and intentions to heal the waters and animals in the Gulf.

Right to Left: Cheri Abrams, Dr. Emoto, and I (Sarah Primus)

Fellow musician, Cheri Abrams and I had the honor of participating as a vital part of the Gulf Blessing event held in St. Petersburg on Saturday, September 11, 2010. We received the invitation from Reiki Master and dear friend Kumari Mullin, to perform our healing music, before during, and after her presentation at Unity Church on the Bay, as well as directly on the Gulf for the water blessing to follow.

Dr. Emoto, along with Rev. Kumari Mullen, held a wonderful workshop about the healing properties of water and using your intentions to heal the waters and animals in the Gulf, followed by a Gulf Blessing and musical performance held at Pass-a-Grill directly on the Gulf. Dr. Emoto’s research and its applications are profound, and the blessing ceremony was both beautiful and powerful. However, after meeting childhood friend of Kumari’s, Marigrace, and learning the story behind how she brought this magical event together, I found myself in awe – realizing that the true magic, the true power of this event, is the divine inspiration that put the whole thing into motion.

Rev. Kumari Mullin demonstrating Grounding and Releasing

Marigrace’s inspiration, and subsequent action, is responsible for bringing together two amazing teachers, Dr. Emoto and Rev. Kumari Mullen. Dr. Emoto is an internationally recognized Japanese researcher who is known for his profound experiments on water crystals that stunned the scientific community, as well as the spiritual community. His profound findings show that human thoughts, words, and intentions can impact the molecular structure of water crystals. Being that our bodies are roughly 75% water, the implications are profound.  As Dr. Emoto says, “If our thoughts can do that to water, imagine what our thoughts can do to our bodies… and our world.”

His photographs of water crystals, known as “Messages in Water,” were introduced in the movie, “What the Bleep Do We Know,” and have inspired scientists and individuals worldwide. Rev. Kumari Mullen is a Reiki Master, Animal Communicator, intuitive healer, counselor, attorney, author, and equestrian who specializes in energetic problem-solving for pets and their people. The coming together of these two forces indeed created an energy and intention that was truly impactful, and we believe transformational, to the Gulf waters, the animals, and the people who were touched by the event. Below is Marigrace’s personal story of how the Gulf Blessing came to be.

Cheri Abrams and Marigrace VanDeventer

Marigrace was deeply inspired by Dr. Emoto’s profound research back in 2005. She trained as a Hado instructor with Dr. Emoto and her personal role as a registered nurse and lactation consultant has been greatly enriched by his teachings.

Ever since hearing Dr. Emoto present his Messages in Water, Marigrace has had an awakened sense of purpose in her life. When she first heard Dr. Emoto speak, she felt her heart chakra burst wide open as if a portal of divine guidance had been suddenly opened. This powerful discovery led Marigrace on an inquiry into the potential healing impact that a mothers healing thoughts, intentions, and emotions may have upon the natural waters (breast milk and amniotic fluid) as shared between mothers and babies. In her work she considers the potential that consciously awakened mothers may have to deeply imprint the values of warm-heartedness, compassion and peace upon the children of generations to come.

Dr. Emoto presenting at Unity on the Bay

Spiritual Guidance can reveal itself to all of us in profoundly different ways. Some of us may experience this guidance through dreams, an idea, and an intuitive nudge, a song playing on a radio or other synchronicity.

The inspiration for this Healing the Gulf workshop and Gulf Blessing came one night when Marigrace was awakened by her intuition from a deep sleep in the hours leading up to the Summer Solstice. She was being summoned by her inner knowing to arise and look out her window just before dawn. As she did, she noticed a beautiful swan making its way through the waters of the pond behind her vacation home. She was delighted as she had not seen a swan there for nearly two years.

In those moments of early morning by the window in North Carolina, as she watched the swan bathing in the water, her heart opened to the idea that she needed to bring two of her dearest friends together and bring a message of hope and healing to the coastal waters of the Gulf of Mexico, with the intention of bringing healing to the waters and animals harmed by the BP oil spill.

Contacting Unity Churches in the Gulf region immediately came to mind, for it was in a Unity Church that she had first heard Dr. Emoto speak in Atlanta. First Unity Church of St. Petersburg and Wings Bookstore agreed to host the event. The next day she called her lifelong friend, Reverend Kumari Mullin, to talk about the possibility of traveling with her to the Gulf Coast of Florida. Kumari, who is an Animal Intuitive and Reiki Master with 22 years of experience living and training with spiritual masters immediately said, “Yes, I will come.”

They went on to discuss with great excitement and anticipation their plan to invite Marigrace’s benevolent teacher and “water comrade” (as he calls his students), Dr. Masaru Emoto, to travel to the Gulf of Mexico. As Kumari and Marigrace spoke, she watched as this beautiful swan began to take the most wonderful bath unlike anything she had ever seen… dunking into the water and playing like a little child for the longest time. The swan was in her glory!

As they spoke, the swan seemed to become more and more joyful. Three times during their conversation the swan stood up and spread and flapped her wings while facing the sun. Both Marigrace and Kumari felt as though this was a sign of approval; the swan was calling them to follow their hearts. Kumari, who is an intuitive animal healer, began to connect with the consciousness of this swan remotely from Florida. She told Marigrace that what the bird was expressing was indeed an expression of gratitude for what they were hoping and planning to present along with Dr. Emoto.

This time… spiritual guidance seemed to be presented in the form of an animal messenger. As you can imagine, it was really something to see. The apparent joy of a beautiful creature bathing and thriving in its natural habitat on the east coast of North Carolina, painted such a striking contrast to the images we have all seen of birds in the Gulf of Mexico covered in oil and struggling to survive. While this magnificent creature was taking such a glorious bath, Marigrace envisioned the other animals and birds down in the Gulf struggling to become clean.

The message was so very clear that we are not to despair and that together we can heal our beautiful waters once again by holding a vibration of love and gratitude. Rather than focusing upon the negative emotions we may feel stirring in our hearts, we may choose to send our heart focused intentions of healing and recovery. Just like the outstretched wings of that splendid bird flapping its wings in the summer sun, we can each stand up and reach out and change the vibration of what we see happening in our world!

And that’s just what we did. Those of us who participated in the Gulf Blessing felt the tremendous healing powers of our positive intentions as we sent our songs, love, gratitude, and apology out to the oil-soaked waters and animals in the Gulf of Mexico. Together we read the following “Grand Invocation” in Japanese:

The Grand Invocation:

Uchuu no mugen no chikara ga korikotte

(universe) (eternal) (energy) (crystallized)

Makoto no daiwa no miyo ga narinatta

(true) (great harmony) era (has come)

As the sun was setting, the sky slowly filled with dark rain clouds; we had apparently called the water. However, as if responding in kind, not a drop fell to the ground during the water ceremony. As the sun set and the crowd dispersed, a clearing formed in the dark clouds, and as you can see from the photo – a heart was formed. Our blessing had been received, and a symbol of love and gratitude had been given.

Shkuhachi Echos

Last month Sarah and I got permission to film my new video, Shakuhachi Echos  at Kashi  Ashram. The day we went to shoot the video it started to rain. At first I though “BUMMER”,  but it ended up being a great special effects.

The Ashram is on located on 80 acres in Sebastian, Florida. Kashi Ashram is an interfaith spiritual community founded in 1976 by Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati. The purpose is to awaken a radical awareness about one’s spiritual self and they embraces all people without distinction as to religion, race, color, creed or sexual orientation. Kashi is a residential spiritual community and is considered an “intentional community,” of which there are thousands around the globe. Which means, everybody is welcome.
